    After more than 50 years as a fixture on Bridgeport's upper Park Avenue, the Discovery Museum and Planetarium is poised to commence a dynamic new chapter in its ever-evolving institutional life with the appointment last month of a seasoned museum professional and science education advocate as its new full-time executive director: Stephen H. Baumann, of Fairfield. Baumann, 62, is no stranger to the area, having spent his youth in Westport; he and his wife, Karen, both graduated from Staples High School in 1970.
