    Lobsters have apparently been on the "menu" for at least 508 million years according to researchers from the University of Toronto, the Royal Ontario Museum and Pomona College in California, who recently discovered an ancient arthropod fossil in the Marble Canyon site in British Columbia's Kootenay National Park . This makes it even older than the 7-foot long lobster Aegirocassis benmoulae found in Morocco, which lived approximately 480 million years ago and fed on plankton with a special filter system for feeding, both of which pre-date the first dinosaurs which appeared on the planet about 250 million years ago.
