    WOODSTOCK – A group that has raised $800,000 to install artificial turf at Woodstock High School will unveil its plans to the public Tuesday, weeks after neighborhood residents approached school district officials with concerns about the proposal. The group's presentation to Woodstock School District 200 Board on Tuesday will provide residents with a chance to address the artificial turf plan and lay the groundwork for board members, as they prepare to vote on the proposal later this summer, Superintendent Mike Moan said.

    A Woodstock businessman who admitted committing wire fraud and defrauding at least one former investor was sentenced in federal court in Brattleboro on Thursday to spend just over two years in minimum security federal prison followed by three years of probation. Paul Hendler, 43, is best known locally as the founder of the now-defunct "Java Pop" organic coffee soda company but a federal prosecutor said that as many as nine individuals and companies ranging from Woodstock-based Green Mountain Digital to the Blueberry Hill Inn in Goshen have allegedly been defrauded by Hendler at various times over the past decade.
