    WOODBURY - Police and county SWAT team officers conducted a heroin bust at a house on Salem Avenue Friday, arresting one man and confiscating more than 8 grams of the drug, as well as to two illegally owned firearms, according to authorities. In addition to the 8.54 grams of heroin - which would be worth approximately $10,000 if sold on the street, police said - officers conducting the raid at 556 Salem Avenue took one Smith and Wesson .357-caliber revolver, and one Kel-Tec .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun, loaded with hollow-point bullets.

The goal of the event, held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the day of the annual Fall Festival Parade , was "to represent the city as a destination with fun things to do for free," Weatherby said.

    WOODBURY - City council on Tuesday formally turned over redevelopment responsibilities for the former Woodbury Country Club to developer William Burris Jr., with the groundbreaking for the first phase of the project scheduled to begin on Nov. 1. With Tuesday's resolution, Burris, who purchased the 50-acre site from its previous owner in June for $3.2 million , assumes the official role of developer from the city. By statute, the city had previously held that responsibility due to the property being part of the municipal redevelopment plan.
