    A Vermont woman accused of embezzlement for the second time in four years has been sentenced to 21 months in prison. Forty-two-year-old Billie Preston of South Burlington pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges accusing her of stealing more than $84,000 from Endyne Inc., an environmental testing lab in Williston where she worked as a bookkeeper.

    On Feb. 14, from approximately 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Vermont State Police at the Williston barracks responded to numerous car accidents on Interstate 89 in Milton, Colchester, Williston, Richmond and Bolton. There was a 14-car accident at mile marker 102 on I-89 southbound in Milton that occurred while the police were assisting a tow truck removing a car that slid into the median.

And Williston is only one of a dozen State Police barracks in a state whose motorists should be well-accustomed to driving in snowy conditions by now. The culprit behind the accidents is speed, according to police, who are asking drivers to slow down when road conditions are less than ideal.
