Planning director Nathan Bilger has been listening to residents' input about how to improve the landscaping, signage, building architecture and numbers of stores for U.S. 31 between Tracy Road and Paul Hand Boulevard, but is still looking for more comments from residents.

    A Whiteland man was arrested after police found him smoking marijuana when they went to his home with a warrant for someone else. William Schoentrup, 32, 680 Maplecrest Drive, Whiteland, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, dealing marijuana, resisting an officer, obstructing justice and possession of a controlled substance.

    Indiana Department of Transportation maintenance crews will resume milling and patching along Interstate 65 today in the southbound left lane between mile marker 95.0 at Whiteland and mile marker 90.0 at Franklin. Single-lane restrictions will be in effect for motorists traveling southbound on I-65 between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. If time allows, INDOT crews may continue patching I-65's southbound left lane to State Road 252 at the 80 mile marker.
