  16. Harry PerrineRead the original story w/Photo

    Dec 23, 2014 | Palladium-Item

Welch, West Virginia on December 1, 1926, Jack began a life that was characterized by joy, humor, and faith. Husband to Virginia Mae Ahlmark Perrine, and father to Daniel Good Perrine and Jacqueline Perrine Schlichte, and known as 'PAPS' to many grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jack was considered by all to be a faithful family man. Extending that family to many of those who are now part of the Arbor Trace family, Jack leaves behind him a wealth of caregivers who joined the family in making his past few years a blessed continuation of his life. Dad was quoted to say of his journey, "I am the luckiest man in the world." Jack's accomplishments reflect the person that he intended to be. His love of Christ impacted his personality and beliefs; an avid reader of God's Word and Thomas A' Kempis 'The Imitation of Christ,' Jack often said, "If you want to see an old man cry, just tell me I have hurt anyone." With that kind of persona, Jack had a journey of accomplishment which included service in the United States Navy, graduation from Indiana University with a Bachelors in Business, running the family business called 'Perrine Fuel Oil,' becoming a real estate appraiser for AMAX Coal, faithful membership at Zionsville United Methodist Church, and in retirement, attending services and Bible Study at Arbor Trace, Richmond, Indiana, for the remainder of his days to keep his mind and his soul focused on the lifetime goal represented in Jack's favorite scripture. Jack Perrine was preceded in death by his wife, 'Ginny,' on January 15, 1998. Survivors include: son: Daniel (Kim) Good Perrine, daughter: Jackie (Dennis) Perrine Schlichte; Grandchildren: Jake Perrine, Christine Perrine, Catherine Perrine, Amanda(Will) Taylor, Rachael(Ben) Phillips, Lauren(Jake) Witcher; great grandchildren: Corbin, Duncan, and Jillian Mae Taylor, Reagan and Katelyn Phillips, Sophia and Sam Witcher; additional grandchildren through marriage, Joey Miller & Carissa Miller; great-great granddaughter, Danica Miller. Christian burial was held at Zionsville Cemetery after a graveside service officiated by Perry Montgomery, Zionsville United Methodist Church. Immediate family will be present at the service. Contributions in honor of Jack Perrine may be made to Communities in Schools Wayne County (33 South 7th Street) or Richmond Community Schools Early College Program, Richmond Indiana (300 Hub Etchison Parkway, Richmond, Indiana 47374).
