    Three people have been charged after deputies said they attempted to detonate an improvised explosive device at a convenience store last year. Pubic information officer Natalie Bailey with the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office said a pipe bomb and fuel were ignited at the Red Oak Crossing store on Jupiter Road in Weaverville on Nov. 8. Bailey said it was an attempt to cause an explosion to divert first responders from an armed robbery that was planned for the McDonald's on Weaver Boulevard.
