    Union City High School students were doing their part to help the environment today -- they helped to plant tree stems at the French Creek Flats Natural Area in Wattsburg. Tree roots will expand and stabilize soil to reduce erosion, and also shade the stream for temperature control, said Alysha Trexler, watershed science project manager for the conservancy.
