    Tandem trucks are being banned from the Thruway in the Hudson and Mohawk valleys because of the storm expected to dump more than a foot of snow parts of eastern New York. State transportation officials say starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday, tandem trucks are banned from Interstate 87 from New York City to Exit 24 at Albany and on I-90 from Exit 24 to Exit 32 at Westmoreland, just west of Utica.

The House of the Good Shepherd assembled the packages and delivered them, but all of the items, including turkeys, vegetables, stuffing, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and pumpkin pies, were donated by a group called Emmanuel House of Prayer in Utica.
