    Just weeks after the Obama Administration announced it would take a hands-off approach to marijuana cultivation on tribal lands, a Mendocino County Pomo tribe announced it will build a $10 million cannabis farm with help from Kansas and Colorado investment firms. The Press-Democrat reported that the Pinoleville Tribe, which has a 99-acre rancheria north of Ukiah, will build a 110,000-square-foot indoor marijuana grow in anticipation of legalization in California.

    Six local high school teams will compete in semi-final competition at the annual County Mock Trials at the Mendocino County Courthouse in downtown Ukiah on Saturday, Jan. 31 beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the second round beginning at 1 p.m. Semi-final competition will continue the following Saturday, Feb. 7 at 9:30 a.m. with the top two teams advancing to the final round of competition to be held that afternoon in Courtroom E beginning at 1:30. This student enrichment activity is funded and coordinated by the Mendocino County Office of Education.
