Two officers from the UI, Nathaniel Park and Doug Beckman, and one from Tolono, Justin Levingston, were first on the scene at The Village at Colbert Park, 100 Village Way, Savoy, because Champaign County sheriff's deputies were handling incidents in other parts of the county. On Wednesday, police were still not sure what led to a dispute in the parking lot, but during at least two points that morning, shots were fired: First about 12 minutes before police arrived, and then after officers reached the scene.
