    Last year, the Superior baseball team finished its season with a record of 11 - 9, including 7 - 7 in section play. It was good enough to get them a berth in the state tournament, where they lost in the second round to rival Ray, 9 - 5. They defeated San Carlos in the first round, 10 - 0. The experience from last season, combined with eight returning starters has the Panthers entering the 2015 season with lofty expectations.

Reyes, a southpaw, scored a second-round TKO against previously undefeated Khalib Whitmore on January 30, 2015 at the Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

    Last week the Legends of Superior Trail Committee along with the International Mountain Biking Association hosted a joint kick off meeting to start mapping and planning for mountain bike, hiking and some equestrian trails in the area surrounding Superior. About a dozen local residents along with outdoor enthusiasts from Kearny, Tucson, Scottsdale, Tempe and Gold Canyon attended the open house meeting.
