    St. Charles police took Alexander G. Niemann into custody after receiving a report of a suspicious person in the area of Blackhawk Trail at about 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 10. A resident said he approached Niemann, who he believed was stealing packages from doorsteps, around that time. Neimann fled the scene in a black-colored Jeep, striking a mailbox and post and "brushing" the resident with his vehicle, according to a St. Charles Police Department press release.
