    Professional women's cyclists are set to take part in a three-stage race as part of the Amgen Tour of California in May. Two of the stages will be held at Lake Tahoe.     Authorities are charging the general manager of Sierra-Tahoe Ready Mix Inc. with at least three counts of fraud related to government construction contracts, following a raid on the South Lake Tahoe cement company nearly seven months ago. According to court documents filed on Oct. 9, the District Attorney of El Dorado County is alleging that Michael Wallace of Sierra-Tahoe Ready Mix "unlawfully and with intent to defraud" presented a "false and fraudulent claim" for payment related to certain construction projects.

    South Lake Tahoe Police Department personnel arrested a man Thursday afternoon accused of stabbing and severely injuring a woman during an incident Wednesday night. The arrest came after investigators returned to the home of the suspect, Thomas Payne, 36, to see if he had returned and found him there, according to a press release issued by the SLTPD.
