    It took several Sebring police officers and several Highlands County Sheriff's Office units, including a K9 unit, on Sunday to nab three out of four men who fled from a van after it tipped over after trying to pass another vehicle on Lakeview Drive, according to a Sebring Police Department traffic report. Arrested by the Sebring Police Department and charged with resisting an officer without violence and loitering or prowling were Demarius Montreel Stevens, 24, 2332 Wrightman Ave., Sebring; Treach Cortez Johnson, 22, 232 Whatley Blvd., Sebring; and Theodore Gibbs, 21, 1845 Cole Court, Sebring.

    Assistant State Attorney Steve Houchin said that because the autopsy determined that the baby died from natural causes, Charity Lynn Harriman, 31, of Sebring, the mother, will not be charged with the death of her 9-week-old son, Skiler. However, Houchin said, his office will continue to prosecute Harriman on a charge of child neglect.

    At Thursday's Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee meeting, Sebring City Manager Scott Noethlich revealed plans for eight fountains and benches at Veteran's Beach, the end of Bayview Street, Sebring Parkway and Fairmount Lane, Edgewater Point and Lakeview Drive, Hidden Beach, Shontee Avenue and Highlands Parkway, the Civic Center and Crescent Beach. At Veteran's Beach, Edgewater Point and the Civic Center, current fountains would be replaced and benches would be added.
