    Former Garwood Municipal Court Judge Antonio Inacio has received a "public reprimand" from an judicial ethics commission after a complaint alleged he abused his power to help a councilman's daughter get out of AA meetings. According to a complaint filed in Dec. 2013 by the NJ Advisory Committee on Municipal Conduct, Judge Antonio Inacio faced disciplinary action after intervening when the councilman's daughter was arrested for alleged possession of alcohol.

    Police are investigating after a 56-year-old man was struck by two vehicles near the intersection of Leland and Columbia avenues on Friday night. Police identified the victim as Larry Bass, from either Scotch Plains or Fanwood , and said he was crossing the intersection of Leland and Columbia avenues in dark colored clothing when the first car struck him around 10:30 p.m. Police said the first driver stopped and got out to assist Bass and called 911, when moments later another car ran him over while he was down.
