'Blanca Fest is a time to enjoy the heritage of San Luis Valley by partaking in great outdoor events to help Colorado Mountain Club raise awareness and funds for the restoration of Como Lake,' said Bryan Martin, director of conservation programs. Celebrity climbers will give free tours and guided hikes geared for all ages and abilities in San Luis Valley and the Sangre de Cristo Range. For more advanced hikers, Chris Davenport, one of the world's most accomplished big mountain skiers known for skiing all of Colorado's 'fourteeners' in one calendar year, will guide an ascent of Blanca Peak, a 14,000'+ peak. Other tours include a bison tour, a great Sand Dunes tour, a Zapata Falls tour and many more. After winding down from a day on the mountain, for just $15 attendees can enjoy a 'chuck wagon' style dinner at the historic Fort Garland Museum located in the shadow of Blanca Peak.
