Early-morning skies sure do look quiet out there mostly clear in fact, and with the dry and clear skies we did a good job of cooling off last night a lot of us are sitting well below freezing across Central and Northern New Mexico and there are lots of upper 20s and lower 30s down south breezes for the most part do you look like but a couple spots have the winds up making for a windchill factor it's definitely a coat hat and gloves morning especially for the kiddos at the bus stop but this is definitely a dress in layers day that mile afternoon sunshine warm us up nicely a lot of us back in the 10 above average range northwesterly winds aloft are focusing their bitter cold influence in the Midwest and so we will just continue to enjoy the quiet sun-filled skies with temperature skyrocketing over the next couple of afternoons were going to see a lot of 70s out there by Thursday I bet ... Dec 19, 2014 | KOAT-TV

Looking ahead toward Saturday for the New Mexico bowl looks like temperatures in the 40s touch of a northwesterly breeze a chillier cool afternoon you want to coat on in the stands but we should have a mostly sunny sky to look forward to is look at the satellite radar this morning that storm in southern New Mexico pushing into Texas and it is leaving us with just a mostly clear sky so marries a patchy fog down and it is still just a touch breezy out there I watch for the phone and it's worst around Gallup New Mexico if you're traveling in the eastern Arizona on interstate 40 today watch for some pockets of limited visibility lots of spots in the teens and 20s across northern New Mexico it's 20s and 30s this morning across the South and there's just a touch of a breeze blowing so there is a wind chill factor this morning it feels like teens in many locations be sure that you got the ... On the draw watch Saturday's rain and then snow did almost at up to a half inch in the rain gauge our yearly total now 8.63 we should be just over 9 inches so we got about a half-inch rainfall deficit but it has turned into a pretty good year in the moisture department now clouds have increased Northwest New Mexico where there are like radar returns none of that activity reaching the ground it would probably be cold enough for snow that this morning got a lot of sponsor temperatures well in the 20s and 30s we checking on early-morning windspeeds and it is just a touch breezy in spots so we do have a windchill factor it feels like it is below freezing around most of the state here's a look at the overall weather pattern that El Nino influenced Northwest flow just off the Pacific is going to loading the barrel with system after system the next one starts depressing tomorrow it's over the ... We have temporarily dry skies over New Mexico there's going to be another chance though for flurries of snow showers across the northern mountains in the northeast part of the state this afternoon our early-morning temperatures are back down below freezing in most spots and were talking teens and 20s across a big chunk of central and northern New Mexico with the many breezes continuing there's a wind chill factor out there to do with feels like it's around zero or even below and some of our colder cities over the northern mountains so be sure that the kids are bundled up tight at the bus stop this morning take a look at our wins today while not as strong as yesterday A lot of us still get into the 20 to 25 range this afternoon with some stronger gusts so just a reinforcing windshield and cold blast throughout the day ... It should be pleasant for tonight's football game at Cleveland High School. Early this morning skies are all the way clear across New Mexico and we are off to a chilly start no doubt hear something you probably have noticed were into our dry skin season lots of dewpoints in the teens and 20s around the state and basically these low moisture levels are going to hold for the next several days the better part of the week ahead now our temperatures are at freezing or below across a big chunk of northern and western New Mexico and everybody else is in the 30s to about 40 winds light for most however we do have a couple spots with those 5 to 10 minute breezes so there's a wind chill factor definitely another coat where the morning with hats and gloves on the kiddos as they head out to the school bus we're going to watch this cold front across the northern plains drop far enough south to push ...
