    Authorities say they're looking at a wood stove as the possible cause of a blaze that destroyed an assistant chief's home located across the street from a central New York firehouse. Officials in the city of Rome tell local media that the fire was reported around 3:15 a.m. Sunday at the home of New London Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Leroy Nestle, who lives across from the fire station.

Omuriuki's arrest came following a two month investigation by Rome Police Detective Rich Galluppi, who is currently assigned to the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center. According to police, Omuriuki engaged in sexual intercourse with a victim under the age of 17, in Rome, between May and September 2014.
