    Black River Falls police arrested a couple from Clark County for stealing $1,834 in store merchandise from the Walmart on Highway 54 on January 28. The Walmart store manager called the Black River Falls Police Department at about 8 p.m. to report suspicious people who appeared to have loaded their vehicle with a large amount of store merchandise without paying for it. The store manager was able to write down the suspects' van license plate number before they drove away.

    After executing a search warrant, Black River Falls police recovered marijuana, a small amount of what is believe to be heroin, and drug paraphernalia from an apartment on Main Street on Frida at about 7:35 p.m. A Black River Falls police officer was assisting a local landlord in securing an apartment when the officer spotted what he believed to be drug paraphernalia lying about inside the apartment. The officer requested a search warrant.

Black River Falls police said someone smashed a window at the restaurant and then went directly to the cash register and stole about $90 and then left the building. The damage to the business costs more than $1,000.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said Mousseaux will be placed in a temporary housing facility at 5 South Roosevelt Road in the City of Black River Falls and will be on electronic monitoring.
