    Ripley, Ohio to the late William and Mabel Dragoo. George was the youngest of 6 children. The family moved to the Liberty area from the family farm when George was a young boy. George delayed graduating from Short High school until his volunteer service in the United States Navy was finished. He was stationed and served in the Philippines near the end of WWII. After graduating High School he married the late Marilyn Maxwell and the two raised three children; Charles (Deborah) Dragoo, Barbara (Ted) Montgomery and Nancy (Gene) Giffen. George truly enjoyed his family and never missed an opportunity to help any of them better themselves. His co-workers at the Elder Beerman Store in Richmond, close friends and family all appreciated George's sense of humor and clever sayings. After becoming a widower in 2010 George learned to cook and discovered he liked it. He perfected his deviled eggs and pineapple upside down cake and was willing to bring them to any event! George had a wonderful life and leaves behind his three children and their spouses, several grandchildren, great grandchildren; sister-in-law Stephanie Sappingfield and special brother-in-law James Maxwell (wife Margaret). There will be a celebration of life gathering at the convenience of the family. George has graciously donated his body to the Indiana University School of Medicine. Donations may be given to the Liberty Presbyterian Church.
