She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jerry Estridge; parents; brother, Golden Hensley; two half-brothers, Don Hensley and Ron Hensley; two half-sisters, Geneva Aranquiz and Patty Choate; and great-granddaughter, Adalyn Grace Jones. Visitation for Phyllis Juanita Estridge will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.     RICHMOND, Ind. - Robert K. "Turtle" Murphy, age 67, of Richmond, died Friday, January 23, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. Born July 7, 1947, in Richmond, Indiana, to Bobby L. and Uvanondis Moore Murphy, Bob lived most of his life in this area. He was a graduate of Richmond High School. Bob entered the United States Army at the age of 17. He served in Germany and volunteered to serve in Vietnam where he did two tours of duty. Bob was later in the United States Army Reserve. He was a mechanic for many years. Bob then moved to Texas where he spent ten years in sign construction. He worked for Kemper Cabinets and later retired from Schrock Cabinetry. Bob was a lifetime member of VFW Kirk-Little Post 1108, the American Legion #315, and Greens Fork DAV. He was the first Vietnam veteran to be VFW Commander. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church. He collected turtles and enjoyed working on computers. Bob was a great American patriot and loved western shows. He dearly loved his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bob enjoyed playing the harmonica. He had a big sense of humor and loved playing jokes. Survivors include his wife, Linda Hiatt Murphy to whom he was married on May 4, 1969; children, Chip (Wendy) Murphy of Cambridge City, Indiana and Bobby (Holly) Murphy of Richmond; grandchildren, Cory, Cinnamon (Andrew), Dustin, J.W. (Kim), Leanna (Brian), Ivy, Justin, Hannah, Haven, and Hayden; 4 great-grandchildren, Damian, Aries, Desmond, and one on the way; brother, Earl (Vicki) Murphy of Richmond; sisters, Marlena Smith of Greenwood, Indiana and Terrie (Jim) Everts of Baker City, Oregon; nieces; nephews; special aunt, Erlabell Petry; cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; aunts; uncles; cousins; and special cousin, Christine Matheny. Visitation for Robert K. "Turtle" Murphy will be from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at First Baptist Church, 1601 South A Street, Richmond, with Rev. James Spon officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, 230 West Monroe, Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60606.
