Born April 8, 1935, in Decatur, Illinois, to Oscar E. and Mary Dixon Brown, Jack had lived in this community since 1968. He was a 1953 graduate of Cerro Gordo High School in Decatur, Illinois. Jack worked as an engineer for General Electric and NATCO. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Norma J. Scharlach Brown to whom he was married on October 20, 1962; daughters, Natalie (David) Gardner of Hilliard, Ohio, Stephanie (Chris) Harper of Rochester, Minnesota, and Jennifer Brown of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Riley, and Caden; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, Elinor, Wayne, Tom, Gene, Mary Elizabeth, and Linda Jo. Visitation for Jack A. Brown will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Born December 25, 1926, in Estill County, Kentucky, to Wilbert "Tagert" and Florence Hunter Moores, Joe lived most of his life in Richmond. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Panama. Joe was the owner and butcher of Moores Market and owned Moores Furniture and Appliances. He liked bowling, playing cards, and horse races. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his children, Brenda Moore-Hunter of Texas, Teresa (Jim) Dodds of Florida, Marie (David Blackwell) Lorenz of Richmond, Marc (Cindy) Moore of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tami Abrams of Richmond, and Ric Wellings of Richmond; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Moore who died September 7, 2012; parents; two brothers; and three sisters. Visitation for Wilbert "Joe" Moore Jr. will be from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. He enjoyed taking fishing trips with his friends and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Patricia Sparks Pennington; children, Chad Pennington of Richmond, Krista Pennington of Pennsylvania, Brian Pennington of Richmond, and Tina Pennington of Pennsylvania; step-daughter, Rhonda (fiance, Lee Rice) Sparks; grandchildren; nephew, Mitch Pennington of Fountain City, Indiana; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Chauncey Pennington; and brother, Rodney Pennington.
