An officer-involved shooting incident December 23rd involving a Reedsport Police officer on Highway 101 near Winchester Bay has been ruled justified by a Douglas County Grand Jury convened to investigate the incident. The man shot by police, Robert J. Jenkins, 55, of Roseburg as his car burned on Highway 101 later died at Lower Umpqua Hospital. Comment?

Authorities say a driver has been cited after a truck hauling lumber products crashed at an Umpqua River bridge in southern Oregon, leaving the truck trailer hanging over the bridge railing above the waterway. The spokesman says 54-year-old Brian J. Neeley of Sheridan was cited for careless driving and failing to drive within a lane. Comment?
