    REDDING >> Officials plan to more than triple the number of endangered winter-run Chinook salmon released into the Sacramento River following a massive die-off last year. The Redding Record-Searchlight reports that in February the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service plans to release about 600,000 winter-run Chinook into the water below the Keswick Dam on the Sacramento River.

    Alayna Shulman-Record Searchlight via The Associated Press Emergency personnel check a tour bus that had already crashed earlier in the day overturned just off Interstate 5, killing one person and sending dozens to hospitals near the Pollard Flat area in Redding Sunday. The bus, bound from Los Angeles to Washington, crashed on Interstate 5 north of Lake Shasta on Sunday morning.
