A investigation of a November car fire in Putnam Valley has resulted in a man being charged by New York State Police with criminal possession of a weapon on Wednesday, Feb. 25. A patrol vehicle from the Stormville barracks located a vehicle fire in a wooded area on the right shoulder of the Taconic State Parkway in the vicinity of Route 301 on Nov. 1, 2014. The trooper stopped and assisted two Good Samaritans who were already attempting to extricate the driver from the vehicle, according to police.

According to the MTA, Metro-North rider Francis Rush, 27, is a volunteer firefighter and trained EMT who sprang into action when 70-year-old Louisville native Moises Dreszer collapsed in Grand Central's 47th Street cross passageway from cardiac arrest. Dreszer was with his wife, Cathy, at a Trackside Commissary cart.
