Richard Spry, a resident of East Fourth Street, Pottstown, is expected to attend a hearing soon in the Sanatoga courtroom of Magisterial District Justice Edward Kropp Sr., according to Ofc.

    A three-month-old phone scam, in which callers pretend to be from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department and hope to trick area residents into paying a fee to avoid being "arrested on a warrant," has taken a dangerous turn in Lower Pottsgrove, township Police Chief Michael Foltz said Monday . Foltz's officers and county detectives are working leads in the most recent variant of the hoax, in which scammers - turned down by a Gabriel Court home owner who refused to be fleeced - made a false report to emergency dispatchers, and alleged a stabbing was in progress at the address.
