DELTA REGION: SACRAMENTO RIVER side – Salmon fishing improved considerably with the water temperatures cooling to 68 degrees in the upper Delta. In lower Suisun Bay, Dillon Point State Park remained the best location in the early mornings with improved action at 1st Street in Benicia in the afternoons at high tide. Comment?
Fishing is good in the main part of the lake with fish hanging in old rock tailings at the end of the Peninsulathe tailings have all kinds of peaks and valleys and you can see where the main channel was. Use your electronics to find fish, and schools of pond smelt, then fish 15 to 35 feet deep. Comment?
A few salmon are landed on a daily basis with the Dillon Point State Park near Benicia or below the Freeport Bridge south of Sacramento being the top locations. Larger stripers have migrated above Rio Vista towards the shallower waters around Liberty Island. Comment?
