    Roger E. Goodrich, 56, of Painted Post, was taken into custody when it was learned he was wanted in Jefferson County, Arkansas for three counts of felony larceny, according to Bath-based New York State Police. Goodrich was arraigned in Bath Town Court as a fugitive from justice and sent to the Steuben County Jail without bail, pending extradition proceedings in Steuben County Court.

In court on Tuesday, 24 year old Jacob Horn of Painted Post was sentenced to 22 years to life in prison for the murder charge, two to four years on the tampering with physical evidence counts, and three to seven years on the criminal possession of a weapon charge.

    A new mural, created by students from the Corning-Painted Post School District's High School Learning Center, was unveiled Thursday in the underpass beneath State Route 352 that connects the north and south sides of Denison Park. The students have spent the fall semester working on the mural, which is part of the Alley Art Project, a program launched in 2009 by the High School Learning Center and the Rockwell Museum of Western Art.

    The Corning-Painted Post School District's $63 million plan to renovate six elementary schools and Memorial Stadium was approved by voters in late September and won't be finished until 2020, but C-PP is wasting no time getting started. The first work will actually be done over Christmas break, Superintendent Mike Ginalski said at Wednesday's school board meeting, where the contractor bids were approved.

Jacob G. Vanness, 19, was charged Nov. 20 with first-degree rape, second-degree rape, first-degree criminal sex act, second-degree criminal sex act, first-degree stalking, third-degree stalking, and second-degree coercion.
