    A Rochester man was sent to prison for drug possession Monday in St. Lawrence County Court after a judge refused to vacate his guilty verdict. Rashad J. Byrd, 38, was sentenced to eight years in prison for felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after County Judge Jerome J. Richards found him guilty in a two-day nonjury trial that ended Oct. 30. On Jan. 7 on Route 37 in Ogdensburg, Mr. Byrd was found to be in possession of $800 worth of crack cocaine during a vehicle stop by St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force members as part of a crack cocaine distribution investigation. 1 comment
