    The North Kingstown Police Department is asking for the public to help them identify a man who allegedly stole thousands of dollars from a victim's bank account. Police said the man, whose image was captured by security cameras, walked into the Coventry Credit Union on Post Road in North Kingstown on Nov. 21 and attempted to use fake identification to get money.

    The Rhode Island Affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union has launched a legal challenge to the enforcement of a North Kingstown ordinance prohibiting families from owning a vicious dog and living near a school or daycare facility. The Providence Journal reports that the law allows the town to seize a dog if officials determine it's vicious.

    The North Kingstown School Committee last week approved a lease agreement with South Easton, Mass.-based HUB Technical Services to equip the school district with 205 Chromebook computers and five portable technology carts - one for each elementary school - at a cost of $86,570. According to a school district report, funding for the Chromebook contract will come from the $400,000 technology fund balance the committee approved on Aug. 26. So far, about $22,000 of those reserved funds have been spent.
