    Middletown Township Police have identified the Newtown woman killed Tuesday morning after being hit by a car while crossing Woodbourne Road by the train station. Joan Schaffer, 61, was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the road at the station just after 6:30 a.m. The striking vehicle remained at the scene and the driver is cooperating with officials, Middletown Township Police said.
