    A Newcomerstown area resident accused of assaulting his wife with the butt of a shotgun has been given a Feb. 11 deadline to advise Cambridge Municipal Court if he wants a preliminary hearing. Robert T. Ford, 30, is facing one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, for the alleged attack at their Plum Road home on Jan. 30. His wife was reportedly first treated at Southeastern Med in Cambridge and then transferred to Ohio Health's Grant Medical Center in Columbus due to the severity of her injuries that included a fractured jaw and other facial injuries from allegedly being struck in the face with the butt of the shotgun.
