    A federal magistrate court judge in Lafayette has recommended the dismissal of the federal lawsuit filed by the Iberia Parish Council against New Iberia attorney Shane Romero The council has accused Romero, son of parish president Errol "Romo" Romero, of exerting a large amount of influence over parish government operations that only his father should have as well as writing some documents that bears the name of the parish president. The lawsuit asked a judge to prohibit the younger Romero from acting as a parish official and to prevent him from entering nonpublic areas of the Iberia Parish offices.
