Karline Dyment, 20, was waiting to make a left-hand turn in the westbound lane when her Ford Fusion was rear-ended by a Chevy Suburban driven by Kalyn Thompson, 37, of Waterford, according to Chief Deputy Naldo Gagnon.

    A 66-year-old Casco woman was arrested Friday night, accused by police of driving drunk and causing multiple crashes, including striking a house. Barbara J. Thorpe was arrested by deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Route 302 and charged with operating under the influence and leaving the scene of a property damage crash, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Roberta Sorensen had called 911 about 9:15 p.m. to report that two men were yelling for help in Brandy Pond and could not hold on much longer, according to Cumberland County Sheriff Kevin Joyce.
