Brandon Paxton, Clackamas Fire District 1 spokesman, said Paxton said a child returning home from school noticed smoke coming from a house in the 3800 block of Southeast Adams Street around 4:40 p.m. and told his father, who called 911. Arriving firefighters found a wood-frame house filled with smoke and soon heard that a woman was trapped in a back bedroom.
