    Milton Town Council has approved a charter change to raise the town's property tax cap, but only by half as much as originally proposed. A proposed change to increase the cap to 1 percent of total assessed property value - which currently would have been about $3 million higher than the current $1 million cap - was reduced to 0.5 percent of total assessed property values with council's approval May 11. Council unanimously approved the proposed charter change, as well as a change to remove a 50-foot waterfront buffer from the document and clarify language in the charter's enumeration of powers chapter.
