Holsey is scheduled to be put to death tonight by lethal injection at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson.

    A man convicted of murdering a Baldwin County Sheriff's deputy nearly 20 years ago is scheduled to be executed on Dec. 9. According to a news release from Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens, Robert Wayne Holsey is scheduled to be executed at 7 p.m. on Dec. 9. Holsey was charged and convicted of malice murder, felony murder and armed robbery, after he robbed a Milledgeville convenience store with a gun, and later shot and killed Robinson. The deputy had stopped Holsey's car, because it matched the description provided by the store clerk.

    Milledgeville police arrested three men, accusing them of robbing another man Wednesday at College Station Apartments, 501 N. Wilkinson St. The victim had a head injury and officers met him at the hospital at about 7:12 a.m., according to a police news release. The victim, Leeon Xie, initially told the officers he injured his head playing basketball with friends.
