    A Massena man charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated twice within a month late last summer will start this summer in the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton. Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson sentenced Christopher R. Lefrancois, 43, of 152 Water St., Massena, to 120 days in the county jail and ordered him to pay a $500 fine and a $400 surcharge for one DWI conviction.

Guay, 30, of 237 County Route 43, Lot 11, Massena, with a felony count of first-degree criminal contempt following a confrontation with his estranged wife, Melisa, at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday at 2 Riverview St. The confrontation violated an order of protection signed by Acting St. Lawrence County Family Court Judge John F. Richey on March 25 directing him not to harass Ms. Guay.

McLaughlin, 46, of North Lawrence with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child Tuesday afternoon following an investigation into an incident reported on April 23. State police investigators said the investigated stemmed from a mandated report to the child abuse hotline by a pediatrician who had observed significant bruising on a seven-year-old male. Troopers said their investigation determined Mr. McLaughlin had caused those bruises.
