    Marion, Indiana, to Carl R. Sr. and Sarah E. Arrick Gossett and lived in Richmond since 1964. Carl was a graduate of Marion High School and attended Butler University. He was a graduate of the Consumer Finance Institute at Marquette University and earned awards in sales, basic organizational and management skills. At American Security he was a training supervisor and managed a number of different branch offices throughout Indiana. He spent 10 years at Koons Home Center in sales and management and worked at Elder-Beerman for five years. Carl was a member of the Richmond Elks Club, serving as Chairman of the Board. He was active in the Centerville Youth League, where he served as the President, along with many fine dedicated men and women in Centerville. He was a member of Centerville Christian Church. Carl enjoyed playing scrabble, poker, and traveling. He was known for his "lectures" and teaching life lessons to his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Louise, to whom he was married on July 19, 1990; three sons, Greg (Catherine) of Bloomington, Indiana, Curtis of Richmond, and Mark (Kim) of Richmond; daughter, Carla (Mike) of Centerville; step-son, James D. Hall; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue (Jerry) Richards of Marion, Indiana; and other special extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; older brother, Richard Gossett; and step-sons, Woody Hall and Joseph Hall. Visitation for Carl R. Gossett, Jr. will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City. Memorial contributions may be made to: Centerville Christian Church, 111 North Morton Avenue, Centerville, IN 47330 or America Cancer Society, Wayne County Unit, 4567 Progress Drive, Columbus, IN 47201. Condolences may be sent to the family via the guest book at www.doanmillsfuneralhome.com.
