    MALONE –– A pursuit that began in the village and ended off Ragged Lake Road in the town of Bellmont late Tuesday night resulted in 15 charges being filed against a Malone man. Floyd R. Bingham, 42, was charged by village police with driving while intoxicated, second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, failure to comply with a police officer, refusal to take a breath test, four counts of speeding and five counts of failure to keep right.

    MALONE –– The Joint Council for Economic Opportunity announced Tuesday that it will end its food services program, which provides food to food pantries throughout a three-county region, on Jan. 15. The program is being discontinued because the JCEO has been unable to negotiate an extension to the lease of its warehouse in the Malone Industrial Park with the Franklin County Industrial Development Agency, according to a news release from JCEO Chief Executive Officer Bruce Garcia. “We thought we did not have a choice but to make this decision,” Mr. Garcia said.
