    Florida Highway Patrol reports one person was seriously injured and two others suffered minor injuries when a car entered the path of an 18-wheeler shortly before midnight Thursday, May 14. According to FHP reports, Philip Daryl Cassady, 56, of Lawrenceville, Ga., was traveling west bound on Highway 2 in a 2007 Toyota Avalon when he came to the stop sign at the intersection of State Road 79. Cassady entered the intersection in an attempt to cross the road, violating the right-of-way of a 2002 Sterling semi that was traveling southbound on SR 79. The semi driver, John Anthony Lynch, 47, of Lynn Haven, attempted to take evasive action to the left, and the semi's left front side collided with the right side of the car.
