    The goals have been piling up for the Los Gatos High School field hockey team this fall--and so have the zeroes. The Wildcats made it 13 straight shutouts in 2014 when the blanked Homestead 8-0 and Saratoga 6-0, pushing their record to 10-0 in the De Anza Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League and to 13-0 overall.

    John Patrick McGowan of Los Gatos joined a rather impressive list this past summer, a list that includes the late astronaut Neil Armstrong, late President Gerald Ford and movie director Steven Spielberg, to name just a few. J.P. achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and was recognized at an advancement ceremony held by Troop 539 of Los Gatos on July 15. For his Eagle project, he built stairs at Bel Gatos Park under the direction of Ranger Dave Gray of the Los Gatos Parks Department in the summer of 2013.
