    A Lexington man died in a one-vehicle wreck in Oglethorpe County early Sunday, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Matthew Howard Mathews, 44, was killed when his 2000 Ford pickup wrecked about 1 a.m. on Lexington-Carlton Road in the Sandy Cross community, the patrol spokeswoman said.

"We've kept it homespun and word of mouth and it's authentic in that regard," said Linda Helmly, an organizer of the concerts and the Oglethorpe Fresh Heritage Co-op, which offers local produce and products from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays through Dec. 13. The concerts usually have a pot luck dinner beginning about 7:30 p.m. with the concerts beginning about 8 p.m. The concerts arose out of efforts that began a few years ago to revitalize the town, Helmly said.
