    A push by Gov. Andrew Cuomo's administration to sack Lake George Park Commission Executive Director Dave Wick ended Wednesday when the commission said Wick will return to his job this month. Wick, who has been on paid suspension since Nov. 14, will go on unpaid leave for two weeks before resuming work on Dec. 10 in his $90,000-a-year post, according a commission news release.

Andrew Cuomo is pressuring the Lake George Park Commission to oust its executive director, Dave Wick, who helped launch a successful boat inspection program to combat invasive species, according to people with knowledge of the situation. On Wednesday, few officials around the lake were willing to talk publicly about the situation, which had led to a closed-door commission meeting on Tuesday at which Wick was placed on paid administrative leave.

    A sewage spill into Lake George this week from the exclusive Sagamore Resort is being investigated by the state Department of Environmental Conservation, the agency said late Friday. The DEC estimated that about 13,000 gallons of sewage from the private resort on Bolton Landing was released, including a 7,000-gallon discharge that reached the lake and created a visible plume.
