Shootings and stabbings create mayhem in La Habra Heights
La Habra Heights – Reports of shootings and stabbing kept emergency personal busy Monday afternoon. After multiple reports of men with guns and a report of a stabbing victim. Both incidents follow what was a busy very Saturday night and Sunday morning after an extensive manhunt across the street form the La Habra Heights City Hall for knife wielding robbery suspects broaden north into the Heights. The latest incident late Monday afternoon on the city’s eastside included a report of 4 men with rifles possibility with a shooting victim with a gunshot wound to the stomach. At the same time another incident of a stabbing near the intersection of Kashlan and Harbor Blvd. That incident required the transportation of a male individual via helicopter to UCI trauma center with two stab wounds to the chest. La Habra Heights Fire Department used a church parking lot located off of Harbor and Fullerton Road as a landing zone for a Mercy Air Helicopter. La County Sheriff Department resources meanwhile focused on the reports of men with rifles at a sand pit located off of Cypress and Kashlan Road. Unconfirmed reports indicate that an off duty law enforcement officer with 3 friends were using air rifles in the area. The “Sand Pit” has long been a popular place for individuals who take advantage of the wide-open space for target shooting. In recent years the practice has become troublesome for residents in the area and frequently report trespassers in the area. Both incidnets appear to be unrelated and no arrests were made. Residents are reminded to keep a watchful eye an report any suspicious activity immediately to local law enforcement. More to follow. Comment?
