The 50-year-old Auburn man, wanted for trafficking in stolen property, spent seven hours in the fetal position hoping the police wouldn't find him, according to a Sheriff's Office media release.

Firefighters responded at about 4:25 p.m. on March 25 to the fire at the single-story building in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue South and saw smoke coming from the interior, according to a Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority media release.

    The fire, in the 8500 block of South 259 Street, was first reported at 1:30 p.m. When firefighters from the Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority arrived, they were told that a couch was burning in a middle unit and that all the occupants had escaped. The fire was controlled within 20 minutes but the fire and smoke damage had spread to several other condos in the building due to a common attic space that allowed smoke and heat to travel horizontally.
