    The body of a 58-year-old man was discovered by a park district employee in Townley Field at Cumnor Road and Melrose Avenue in Kenilworth about 3 p.m., according to Kenilworth police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. The nearby Joseph Sears School was notified and initiated precautionary security procedures during the investigation, but the exact time of the man's death is not known.

    A body discovered Monday in a Kenilworth village park near Joseph Sears School is that of a man in his 50s who appears to have died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound, Kenilworth police said. Police said they were contacted at about 3 p.m. Monday by an employee of the Kenilworth Park District, who found the body in Townley Field, at the corner of Cumnor Road and Melrose Ave. Prior to the report from the park district employee, police said they had not received any complaints regarding the sound of gun shots, and said they are uncertain when the death occurred.
