Officers from the DLNR Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement, along with staff from the DLNR Division of State Parks, closed the section of Kekaha Kai State Park after the object was found in the water.

    Kauai Police identified a 56-year-old man who died in a two-car crash in Kipu Saturday, as Jonathan Renti Cruz of Kekaha. At about 10 a.m. Saturday, a 36-year-old Koloa man, driving eastbound on Kaumualii Highway in a Ford 150 truck, attempted to overtake a Ford Mustang when the truck clipped the front end of the Mustang, causing the truck to cross the center and broadside a Chevy sedan, Kauai Police said in a news release.

    A 52-year-old man apparently drowned Tuesday afternoon in waters off Kua Bay in North Kona, according to the Hawaii County Fire Department. Rescue crews with the Kailua Fire Station responded shortly after 5 p.m. to a report of a man found floating in the waters of the bay, which is located within Kekaha Kai State Park.
