    The spring chinook salmon runs to the Willamette, Cowlitz, Kalama and Lewis rivers are forecast to be similar in 2015 to this year - mediocre in the Willamette and Cowlitz and poor in the Kalama and Lewis. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is predicting 55,400 Willamette-origin spring chinook will return to the Columbia River.

A funding gap of about $500,000 in federal Mitchell Act funds will reduce fish production at WDFW's North Toutle, Kalama Falls and Skamania hatcheries.
